This Saturday February 25, 2012 Mechanicsburg Lodge No. 113 will hold their Annual Inspection in the Entered Apprentice Degree. Dinner will be served at 6:00 pm and Lodge will open promptly at 7:00 pm.
The Entered Apprentice Degree is an opportunity for each of us to reflect and reaffirm our commitment to the fraternity. As an organization of good men and true, there is a well defined line directly connecting today's Masonry with the operative masons who built the great castles and cathedrals of the Middle Ages in Europe and the United Kingdom.
The path we follow in the initiatory degrees is identical with that trod by every other Mason who has come before us. You were asked the same questions. You were required to take the same vows. Likewise, you were accorded the same honors.
For Masonry is a great philosophic system of morality, or ethics, interpreted by allegory and by the use of ancient symbols. Its great teachings are brotherly love, relief and truth — and these are further explained as you progress through the degrees.
You have undoubtedly found that Masonry is dignified and inspirational in its manifestation to you who knocked at the inner door of the Lodge. It should, and will, play a vital part in all your future life, if you will but open your heart and mind, and let it be.
It's a Great Day to be a Mason!
Fraternally,
Charles A. Dyer, P.M. President 9th Masonic District Officers Association
