Brethren,
A big weekend of brotherhood and fellowship is upon us as we prepare for a double inspection this Saturday. New Carlisle Lodge No. 100 will kick off the day by serving breakfast beginning at 7:30 am. Lodge will open promptly at 9:00 in the Fellow Craft Degree. The Craft Club will be putting on the Yellow Dog Degree immediately following the inspection. I encourage you to bring your new members out for this event.
We will then travel a few minutes down the road to Mt. Olivet Lodge No. 226 for a wonderful lunch served at 12:00 pm. Lodge will open in the Fellow Craft Degree promptly at 1:00 pm.
The Traveling Gavel will be available to the largest delegation from any 9th District Lodge, so I encourage each of you to make plans to bring as many brothers from your Lodge as possible if you want to take this trophy home! The top Lodges last weekend were Madison Lodge No. 221 with 13 brethren and Mt. Sterling No. 269 with 12 brethren. It will take a stellar turn-out from your lodge to take the gavel home this weekend.
A few other events to keep in mind; Madison Lodge No. 221 will be holding their Night of Enlightenment on Monday February 13, 2012 at 7:30 pm. The guest speaker will be W.B. Michael Clevenger from Freemason University who will present a program on the 5 Levels of Leadership.
We are still looking for those interested in the Concealed Carry Class that will be held on March 18, 2012. Please contact Bro. Steve Raiff at 937-408-6488 to get yourself on the list. This event is open to all Masons, their families and friends! You do not have to be a Mason to take the class. Cost is $100 and includes lunch, dinner and gun rental.
Finally, I would encourage each of you to take a few minutes and read the article published in this months "The Northern Light" entitled General Motors. If your not a Scottish Rite Mason or don't have access to the Magazine, your in luck; a copy is posted on the district website under News and Information.
I look forward to seeing each of you in our travels!
It's a Great Day to be a Mason!
Fraternally,
Charles A. Dyer, P.M. President 9th Masonic District Officers Association
